Hello fellow NOVAA members!
I'm curious if anyone has had experience posting volunteer opportunities to the GivePulse platform, either in general or in conjunction with volunteer opportunities you're sharing with a specific college or university that uses the GivePulse platform. https://www.givepulse.com/
I'm stepping into the Coordinator role of the Student Community Engagement Center at Portland State University, and we just learned that our Service Portal, where our community partners can post volunteer opportunities to share with our students (and/or the wider community), might be switching to be powered by the GivePulse system.
I'm signed up for their free demos to learn more about the system, but I know better than to just trust what their marketing department wants to tell me... I'm curious to hear from actual volunteer managers who have used the system. Was it easy to post volunteer opportunities? Was it easy to hear from volunteers who found your listings? Did the system integrate well into the systems you already have to connect with volunteers?
From an initial glance, it seems like GivePulse (as with many systems) wants all volunteers to actually "sign up" for shifts through their web platform rather than just express interest and get directed to the next step in your established process (e.g. fill out your application, sign up on your website, etc.). It also seems like the postings are set up well for opportunities that have established shifts, but maybe not so much for ongoing needs where shifts are established once a volunteer has been onboarded. But I'm not sure if this is accurate, so I'd love to hear from folks who have actually used the system!
Thanks so much,
Melia
