The Oregon Heritage Conference in Bend is looking for panelists to join a session on April 12 from 10:15 - 11:30 a.m. The format of the session is as follows: pre-selected organizations will present an issue they are grappling with and a panel of experts will respond. The panel of experts will provide advice regarding issues organizations are facing and don’t know how to address, one of which is volunteer engagement.

The conference is focused on heritage organizations; mainly small non-profits (some that are all volunteer-run) including museums, historical societies, genealogical societies, Main Street communities, cemetery groups, etc… Any non-profit volunteer experience would be welcome! Admission to the conference is offered to anyone who becomes a panelist.

Topics for discussion will be sent to the panelists in advance. The panel will be moderated by a local nonprofit consultant and confirmed panelists include a museum director and a representative from the Department of Justice. More about the Oregon Heritage Conference can be found here: http://www.oregon.gov/oprd/hcd/ohc/pages/conference.aspx

If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Beth Dehn, Beth.Dehn@oregon.gov, Heritage Commission Coordinator at the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office.
