Part Time Hospice Volunteer Coordinator - Hood River

    Providence is calling a Hospice Volunteer Coordinator (0.6 FTE, Days) to Providence Hospice Of The Gorge in Hood River, OR.

    In this position, you will:

    • Recruit, screen, interview, train, assign and supervise volunteers.

    • Provide volunteers ongoing educational opportunities, support and recognition.

    • Have responsibilities including: communicating with members of the interdisciplinary team, assessing and coordinating volunteer assignments, maintaining documentation pertaining to volunteer services, maintaining data base and personnel files for the volunteers, and keeping the volunteer program in compliance with Providence Policy, The Joint Commission, and Medicare standards.

    • Uphold the standards of confidentiality, attendance, and punctuality.

    • Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and philosophy.

    Qualifications:

    Required qualifications for this position include:

    • 2 years of experience in volunteer coordination role

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    • Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire

    • Demonstrated experience in event planning

    • In compliance with the Providence Health & Services-OR Human Resources policy #302 “Background Checks”, a criminal background check is required for this position, based on assigned duties

    Preferred qualifications for this position include:

    • Bachelor’s degree in social services, liberal arts or related field

    • Hospice experience

    • Experience using electronic medical record software
