Hello everyone! I know this is a topic that comes around again and again, so I apologize up-front for beating a dead horse.
I moved from an organization where I had to turn away volunteers to an organization that really, really needs more volunteers. I have posted opportunities in the usual places, and have tried some personal recruitment techniques -- referral contest for current volunteers, attaching recruitment flyers to donation receipts, reaching out to retirement communities, multiple social media posts -- with little to no luck. I am planning a recruitment happy hour event for early next year, but it has to wait until January/February.
Anyone care to share any unique or particularly effective recruitment techniques?? Looking for individual volunteers, not groups. I do realize that recruitment takes sustained effort over time, but I gotta start somewhere with some fresh ideas! Thank you in advance!
