I was recently contacted by Caitlin Curtis from Playworks who is looking for a volunteer opportunity for a group of AmeriCorps members on MLK Jr. Day of Service. My organization is closed that day so I wasn't able to accommodate the group. Wanted to share the info here in case anyone wants the help...
"My name is Caitlin and I am an AmeriCorps member serving with Playworks, the nation's leading non-profit advocating for safe and healthy play in elementary schools. January 15th, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I will be hosting a community service project for my fellow AmeriCorps members. I am interested in partnering with your organization in whatever capacity possible.
In the past, our team has worked doing gardening projects, cleaning and organizing for various organizations around the Portland area. We are open to doing a variety of service projects that can accommodate 15+ people for a half day or full day. I am restricted by a budget--I have no money to contribute--and it has to be on MLK Day for 15+ people.
If you have any projects in mind with your organization, please let me know!"
