Do you need volunteers during COVID-19?

    Hi all!

My nonprofit has temporarily closed during the pandemic.  I started wondering about all my fellow volunteer coordinators who have programs that cannot close - particularly those who are usually primarily staffed by volunteers ages 65+.  I know this post is rather unusual compared to the regular message board posts, but do you need help?

I'm young, able-bodied, not in a high-risk category for COVID-19, nor do I live with anyone who has a high risk.  I understand the severity of this virus and promise to wash my hands constantly.  I also have many friends in the same boat.   Do you have essential volunteer programs where you're now scrambling for coverage?

Let me know!  I'd be happy to help.

    All the best,

    Becca

I know Blanchet House is still operational (feeding people experiencing homelessness, at present with to-go food and window service) and in need of volunteers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service. A great place to volunteer, and they’ve lost a lot of their regular helpers!

    Hi Becca,

This came through last week, and might be an opportunity for younger folks.

Hi Becca- Oregon Food Bank and Store To Door are additional options as they are in need of healthy helping hands for the time being.
