ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS & TRAINERS:
Daryl Dixon: Daryl Dixon is regarded as one of the most powerful, inspirational and relevant speakers and trainers on the subject of workforce diversity. Daryl is the founder of Diversity Resource Group (DRG), and the Professional Diversity Practitioners Network. Daryl works with organizations to help create an optimal work environment – an environment where every employee feels recognized, appreciated, valued and that his/her talents are being optimally utilized. Daryl has consulted with organizations that range from small non-profits to Fortune 500. Daryl received certification as an EEO Investigator from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. An award-winning diversity practitioner, Daryl has presented at numerous diversity conferences, including the national SHRM Diversity Conference. Daryl was cited in HR Magazine for his expertise in the area of workforce diversity. Daryl served as an EEO Officer in the US Army, the Director of Multicultural Services at George Fox University and the Chief Diversity Officer of Multnomah County, the second most populous county in the Northwest.
Jim Laden: Jim has had an extensive career in Human Resources, program management, education, and training. He is currently the VP of Leadership and Talent at FoodCorps. He is currently the VP of Leadership and Talent at FoodCorps. Prior to these experiences, Jim worked in Career Services at Lewis & Clark College and as the Director or Learning and Volunteer Resources for AFS Intercultural Programs. In addition, he spent 10 years as an adjunct instructor in the Human Development Department at Clark Community College. Jim also spent years training new volunteer administrators in NOVAA’s Volunteer Management 101 and 201 classes. Jim has been an active community volunteer since serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone in the mid-1980s. In the Portland area, he has most recently been involved in volunteer leadership roles with The Pangaea Project and the Atkinson Elementary PTA. He has a B.A. in Government from Dartmouth College and an M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Virginia.
Stephanie Stokamer: Stephanie Stokamer has worked in educational, non-profit, and national service sectors in the Pacific Northwest for 20 years and is currently the director of the Center for Civic Engagement at Pacific University. She holds Master’s degrees in Education and Social Sciences, as well as a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership, from Portland State. Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge on civic engagement and social change (including civic learning, service-learning, partnerships, and collective impact); connections between education, mission, and civic action; strategies for partnering with colleges and universities; and the current landscape of community partnerships in postsecondary education.
