Our Mission: Lutheran Community Services Northwest partners with individuals, families and communities for health, justice and hope.

About Us Lutheran Community Services Northwest is a non-profit human services agency that improves lives of people in communities throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho. We provide a wide variety of services to adults, adolescents, children, families, schools and communities. We are privileged to touch lives of all ages, cultures and faiths.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Refugee Resettlement and Circle of Welcome (CoW) program volunteers.

The CoW program is a national LIRS model for Lutherans and other faith and community groups to make a meaningful commitment to walk alongside refugee families. CoW teams support the long-term integration of a refugee family by providing volunteer and financial support for one year. CoW teams provide ongoing volunteer support, including mentoring, English-language practice, and cultural orientation to the refugee family they work with. Throughout the course of the one-year volunteer commitment, the CoW team reduces their activities with the family to encourage refugees toward self-sufficiency and independence.
